Bringing King Tut to Life with Augmented Reality

The Challenge

We partnered with one of the largest providers of seamless ticketing, retail, food service, and merchandising opportunities to zoos, museums, and cultural attractions.

We develop an augmented reality (AR) experience that brought King Tutankhamun back to life.

The client wanted to elevate the TUTANKHAMUN – His Tomb and His Treasures exhibition—one of the world’s most significant touring experiences—by creating something that would spark excitement, deepen learning, and drive ticket sales. They needed a modern digital moment that would make ancient history feel alive.

The Approach

We designed and built an immersive augmented reality (AR) experience that brought King Tutankhamun back to life. Visitors could use their phones to see a full-scale AR rendering of the young pharaoh, interact with key artifacts, and unlock short educational moments layered directly on top of the exhibit environment.

Key features included:

  • Realistic AR model of King Tut, animated and historically aligned

  • Interactive hotspots revealing stories, facts, and cultural context

  • Integrated ticketing prompts allowing users to purchase exhibit tickets directly through the experience

  • Social-share elements to extend reach through visitor posts and word-of-mouth

The Outcome

The AR activation created a new level of audience engagement—turning passive viewing into active exploration. Visitors spent more time interacting with the exhibit, shared their experiences socially, and expressed increased curiosity about ancient Egyptian archaeology.

The experience helped:

  • Expand awareness for the exhibition

  • Generate excitement before arrival

  • Increase dwell time and educational interaction

  • Drive incremental ticket purchases
